Nuclear Legacy Roundtables
Trinity Section held a Nuclear Legacy Roundtable series in the Fall of 2009. At intervals of approximately two weeks, senior members of our nuclear community shared their personal stories of significant historical events and activities. Trinity Section plans to conduct another series such as this in the future.
All sessions were held on Saturdays at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History in Albuquerque, beginning at 10 AM. A small fee was charged to cover light refreshments and museum costs, which was collected through our web site (a new payment link will be provided when the next series is announced).
The schedule of 2009 presentations was:
- Saturday, 10 Oct 09: John Richter â Overview of the weapons program during the Cold War.
- Saturday, 24 Oct 09: Bill Stratton â Kiwi transient nuclear test, and estimation of fission products from TMI.
- Saturday, 7 Nov 09: Carl Henry â The NEST program.
- Saturday, 21 Nov 09: Dick Malenfant â Reconstruction of Little Boy to determine radiation doses.
- Saturday, 5 Dec 09: Paul Pickard â Overview of Sandia Nuclear Facilities.
